As will all conventions, I have been taking commissions to be picked up at the San Diego Con. I’ve been pretty busy between these private commissions and the dinner commissions. Above is one of the private ones.

Sergio and I collaborated on a couple of things for our upcoming trip to HeroesCon next week. This 3 inch reusable vinyl sticker is one of them. Mark Evanier and Julie Sakai will also be there.

The art is 9×12 inches on 10×15 4-ply, 500 series, cold press Strathmore Bristol. I used a .3 2H mechanical pencil to do a rough layout and a .5 B for finished pencils. Inking was done with a Koh-i-Noor ArtPen with Platinum Carbon black ink. The art is finished with watercolors.

They approved the pencils but wanted their dog and cat included. Then I took it to inks.

This commission request came as, “Usagi and Tomoe, back to back, with swords drawn and smiling. There is a tokage in the background and small animals around them.” They did not limit me to non-fictional or extinct animals, so this is the pencils I offered.

Julie and I will be guests at HeroesCon in Charlotte, NC in a few weeks. As usual before an appearance I take a few commissions. This is the first time I have drawn Shredder from the TMNT. Here are the pencils awaiting approval.
